If you: You neeed to do: Resources to Contact:

Are excited about a training event out there that:

  • will support your interpreting in general,
  • will enhance a specialized area of your work, or
  • will develop a skill (or knowledge) that is related to interpreting,

but the event is not put on by PIE and it doesn't offer RID CEU's,

A Participant Initiated Non-RID Activity (PINRA) form.

(In other words, you can still earn CEU's for that event if you plan ahead.)

Learn more about the PINRA here.

PIE

(This benefit is available to full-time and part-time employees at no charge, a benefit paid for you by PIE, Inc.).

Contact Linda Lonning at least 14 days prior to your event to get the right RID paperwork to you and tell you about how this process works.

Are going to be:

  • doing original research that has to do with our work with Deaf, Deaf-blind or hard of hearing consumers,
  • preparing and presenting NEW information related to interpreting that you haven't received CEU's on during this CEU cycle,
  • writing materials for publication (e.g.: the VIEWS, a journal, a book),
  • reviewing an audio tape, video tape or book,
  • doing a formal, structured mentorship with someone as mentor or mentee, or
  • would like to contribute to the body of research for RID state affiliate chapters (Even though you cannot earn CEU's for Board service, you CAN design an Independent Study that "...identifies specific lessons learned as a Board member..." [2-Pg. 28]).
